White Horse-Comb
âď¸ Let this painting's story â touch your own
From My Personal Journal
Â
Thereâs something about horses Iâve always admiredânot just their beauty, but their balance. The way they carry both power and peace in the same breath.
When I painted this one, I didnât want to capture motion. I wanted to capture presence. That rare kind of stillness that doesnât come from being passive⌠but from being centered.
Her head is bowedânot in submission, but in calm. Itâs the quietest moment, right before she lifts her gaze. And yet, her mane says everything she doesnât need to.
It risesâwindblown, untamed, alive.
Thatâs where the name COMB came from. It reminded me of waves combed by the wind⌠or a soul lifting while the body rests.
Thereâs dignity in her posture. Sheâs not looking for applause. Not trying to prove herself. She just is. And in a world that constantly asks us to be louder, faster, moreâthereâs a kind of quiet rebellion in that.
As I painted the curve of her neck, I kept thinking of all the times Iâve seen people underestimate softness. How they confuse gentleness for fragility. But this horse? She knows her strength. Itâs woven into her muscles, her stance, the still determination in her golden eye.
She doesnât need to gallop to be free.
She already is.
I kept the background dark so her form could speak. No distractions. Just the contrast of light and shadow, softness and strength.
Maybe when you look at her, youâll feel that same reminder: that you donât have to raise your voice to raise your energy. That grace can carry its own kind of power.
That even in stillnessâŚ
You can rise.

My journey as an artist
...didnât start the way one might expect!
Â
I began not with brushes and paint, but as a single mother raising two beautiful daughters after the devastating loss of my husband at a young age.
My girls were just 7 and 12 at the time, and with no choice ...but to press forward.
I spent the next 25 years waiting tables.
Though life was challenging, my love for my daughters gave me strength and the dream of becoming an artist, something I had held in my heart since I was a child, stayed with me quietly in the background.
It wasnât until I retired and met Ian, during what I now call my golden years, that I finally had the time and space to pursue that long-held dream.Â
Â

Â
In 2022...
Ian and I set out to create beautiful paintings and the finest quality limited-editions, driven by a desire to make my self-taught art accessible to all.
We want people to experience the beauty of art
...without breaking the bank.
Now, with Ian by my side, I embraced the creativity I had kept hidden for so long, sharing it in a way that allows others to bring a piece of that journey into their own homesâaffordable, yet meaningful.
Â
âŚthat speaks to your emotions.
Â

Thank you for your generous support and kindness,
so very much appreciated.
